Beautiful black and white photographs of youth involved in gangs by Donna De Cesare
Donna de Cesare is a famous photographer from New York. Her works appeared in big publications like The New York Times magazine, Life, DoubleTake, Aperture, Mother Jones and some exhibitions all around the world. Her reportage about the spread of US gang culture to Central America has won national and international awards. Recognized as an expert on issues of youth identity and gang violence, De Cesare has worked as a consultant to UNICEF. Well, her resume is quite big so I will stop here.
The strength of her works is that she tells the story of youth involved in gangs without stereotyping them and her photos speak by themselves.
You will see interesting photos she took for her projects inside the post.
