all lcds are transparent. you can remove and cut the plastic back of most laptop screens and make them truly transparent, they will just no longer be backlit as you have to remove the reflective layer as well. this is a very easy mod to do in real life to 90% of laptops, i’ve turned an old laptop into a really nice projector by doing this and placing the screen on a standard overhead projector.
