Leisure World is the America’s largest private retirement community founded in 1964 in California.
To get to this paradise you must be at least 55 years old. The perimeter of the community’s area which is of about 4 square miles, is surrounded with barbed wire. The average age of town residents is 77 years old. There are currently 18,000 residents in this earthly paradise. As it is indicated in the name of the community, the elderly come here for “non-stop vacations”, for leisure. Their main activities are: leisure activities: golf, tennis, lawn bowling, bridge, barbershop singing, ballroom dancing, shuffle-board.

Manshiet Nasser is a strange community in Cairo, Egypt. People call this place The City of Garbage because tons of trash come here from all over the capital of Egypt. The most unusual thing about this place is that people actually live here. Another strange thing about Manshiet Nasser is that local residents, the Zabbaleen, including women and kids dig through the garbage looking for something to resell. About 80 per cent of this trash is recycled and resold later on.
Cairo is not the only city on earth where such a model of Manshiet Nasser exists. It is already copied by communities in Los Angeles, Bombay and Manila.

This is what is left of Gagra, a resort city on the Black Sea coast.
With its climate close to subtropical, Gagra was a popular health resort in Imperial and Soviet Russia among Russian elite. It was a paradise with its pleasant climate, a royal palace and a number of buildings in an eclectic variety of styles from around Europe. The park that surrounded the resort was also very popular with tropical trees and even parrots and monkeys imported to give it an exotic feel.
But the war between Abkhazia (political entity within Georgia which status is disputed) and Georgia in 1992-1993 deserted the place making it all ruins and a ghost town.
